The Role
The Head of Card Operations is mission critical to defining, setting up and scaling Zed's card operations in the Philippines. This role reports directly to the CEO, and will collaborate closely with the co-founders and leadership team. Our ideal candidate thrives on building innovative systems and processes from the ground up, is a highly organized self-starter and has at least 2 years experience leading credit card operations at a major bank or financial institution.
What you’ll do:
- Design, implement and maintain the systems, processes and policies encompassing all aspects of card operations.
- Serve as liaison and technical project manager between our network of third party vendors and internal teams, initially setting up operations related to:
- License management and new system certification with card network/scheme
- Card manufacturing and packaging
- Card personalization and distribution
- Develop procedures to support digital credit card applications, enhanced due diligence, and rejection or off-boarding of customers ensuring such procedures are consistent with laws, regulations, and company policies
- Contribute to evolving credit policy by analyzing performance metrics and proposing improvements to reduce credit losses
- Develop our credit card servicing system and operationalize the collections process
- Implement controls to mitigate compliance, operational and fraud risk
- Investigate and report flagged accounts/transactions
- Plan strategically for the future of the Card Operations team at Zed, ensuring appropriate and reliable processes, systems and internal controls are implemented as we scale.
About you:
- You are an enthusiastic doer — this is not a pure management role. You’ll be carrying out day to day operations work alongside the co-founders in the early days before the growing your team.
- You have deep experience at banks or regulated financial institutions and are passionate about becoming an early team member at a fast-paced, mission-driven startup
